  2. Hello,

Oliver mentioned playing a game in which your character isn't the only one doing something of relevance enhances his game experience. I think such details (such as the examples Oliver gave of Half-Life) are a nice touch a game but are about ten-miles away from anything I'd consider necessary to make a game cut it for me. If anything, I would prefer all the emphasis of the game to be on the character I'm playing (maybe I'm too egocentric?) - especially if the other characters are NPCs.

The only times I think emphasis should be put on other characters besides my own is when the game is multi-player.

I do understand that Half-Life is a single-player game with a lot of emphasis on story. It feels like a movie when you're playing through it and because of that, it has almost no re-playability in my eyes. Hopefully future episodes of Half-Life will have less video* and more (quality) gaming so it can feel more like a video-game and less like some God of War action cut-scene. The game (if you can call it that) is entertaining to play through the first time around so if you're planning on buying it... don't. Either play it at some gaming cafe or play the game at the house of a friend who was unfortunate enough to waste money on owning the games.

    So late, must sleep >_>",
